Pixel Screenshots for iPhone? Pizazoo vs Pixel Screenshots

Pixel Screenshots arrived with the Pixel 9 in August 2024 as "an exclusive app for Pixel 9" and has stayed Pixel-only: Google’s help page lists the Pixel 9, 10 and 11 phones and nothing else. If you are on an iPhone and want the same idea, a screenshot library that reads your screenshots for you, you need a different app. This page compares what Pixel Screenshots does with what Pizazoo, our iPhone, iPad and Mac app, does instead, including the parts Pizazoo does not cover.

TL;DR: Pixel Screenshots does not run on iPhone. Google’s app works only on Pixel 9, 10 and 11 phones, where it makes screenshots searchable in plain language, writes titles and summaries, and sets reminders, using Gemini Nano on the phone and now also Google’s cloud. On iPhone and iPad, Pizazoo covers the organizing side on-device, free, with a Mac app.

Pick by what your bottleneck is.

Pick Pizazoo when

  • You use an iPhone or iPad: Pixel Screenshots is not available on iOS, and Pizazoo is free on the App Store (iOS and iPadOS 17 or later)
  • You want your screenshots sorted into categories and searchable by their text, with the analysis done on your device
  • You want screenshot search results in iOS Spotlight, not only inside the app
  • You want the same library on a Mac: Pizazoo has a Mac app, and Pro iCloud Sync keeps Mac, iPhone and iPad in step (Pixel Screenshots supports only device-to-device backup and restore)
  • You want to clear screenshots out of Photos after import: removed originals go to Recently Deleted for 30 days
  • You do not want to sign in: Pizazoo needs no account, while Pixel Screenshots needs a Google Account for its AI features
  • You want to mark up screenshots: pen, arrows, numbered steps, text, spotlight, magnify, blur or black out, crop and translate

Pick Pixel Screenshots when

  • You have, or are switching to, a Pixel 9, Pixel 10 or Pixel 11 phone (Google’s list does not include the A-series, such as Pixel 9a, or other Android phones)
  • You want to search in plain language and get AI titles and summaries for each screenshot
  • You want reminders on screenshots and one-tap action chips
  • You want suggestions from your screenshots to appear in Gboard while you search in apps like YouTube Music and Google Maps
  • You want it built in at no cost, with Google Play’s Data safety section listing no data collected or shared
  • You want filters by date range, collection and source app (added in August 2026)

Common questions

Pizazoo vs Pixel Screenshots: FAQ

Can I get Pixel Screenshots on iPhone?

No. Pixel Screenshots is a Google app for Pixel phones only. Google’s help page lists the Pixel 9, Pixel 10 and Pixel 11 phones (base, Pro, Pro XL and Pro Fold), in English, German and Japanese in 10 countries. There is no App Store version, and it does not run on iPad or on other Android phones.

What is the closest alternative to Pixel Screenshots on iPhone?

Start with what iOS already has: Photos keeps every screenshot under Collections > Media Types > Screenshots, and Live Text recognizes text in your photos so you can copy, translate or act on it. For a dedicated library, Pizazoo (which we make) sorts screenshots into categories and searches their text on the device, with results in iOS Spotlight. If reminders and buy-or-book actions matter most, Captr is closer to that side of Pixel Screenshots, though it processes screenshots in the cloud and needs an account.

Does Pixel Screenshots process screenshots on the device?

It started that way: Google’s store page says Gemini Nano on the Tensor chip in Pixel 9 and later phones lets Pixel Screenshots work offline. A June 2026 update changed the app’s wording to say data is processed in a secure, isolated environment "on your device or in the cloud," and 9to5Google reported that it can now use cloud processing while still using on-device models offline. Pizazoo runs OCR and categorization on your iPhone, iPad or Mac.

Does Pizazoo do everything Pixel Screenshots does?

No. Pizazoo does not set reminders, show action chips or feed suggestions into your keyboard in other apps. What it adds for Apple users: an iPad layout with Apple Pencil markup, a Mac app that organizes Mac screenshots, iCloud Sync across all three (Pro), a share-sheet "Save to Pizazoo", and an option to remove imported screenshots from Photos.

Which Pixel phones support Pixel Screenshots?

Google lists the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the same four Pixel 10 models and the same four Pixel 11 models. The list does not include the A-series, such as Pixel 9a, and the app needs a valid Google Account for its AI features.
