How to Organize Screenshots on iPhone (Automatically)
Your iPhone screenshots pile up in Photos with no names and no order. Here is how to sort them into categories automatically, on-device, with no cloud upload.
Why iPhone screenshots become a mess
The iPhone makes screenshots effortless: side button plus volume up, done. The result is hundreds or thousands of images sitting in the Photos Screenshots album, all visually similar, none searchable by what actually matters: the text and content on the screen.
Photos does offer a Screenshots media type filter, and its search can sometimes match text in images. But there are no categories, no tags built for screenshots, and no way to ask for "that receipt from April" or "the error message from the build last week".
What the Photos app can and cannot do
Photos can: show all screenshots in one album, delete in bulk, and occasionally match a word via visual look-up.
Photos cannot: group screenshots by what they are (receipts, code, chats, errors), let you tag them for a project, or give you a reliable text search across every capture. Screenshots are records; Photos treats them like snapshots.
The automatic approach
A dedicated organizer treats screenshots as documents. Pizazoo for iPhone does this fully on-device:

What about cleanup?
Once screenshots are categorized and searchable, deleting gets easy: you know what you have and you know you can find what you keep. Does any of this touch the cloud?
