Feature · AI categories

Every screenshot sorted into a category, on your device.

Categorization works in two layers, both on your device. First, Pizazoo scores each screenshot on the text it reads, what Apple’s Vision framework recognizes in the image, the file name and the screenshots you have already sorted. Then, if your device has Apple Intelligence, Apple’s on-device model reviews that pick. Without it, the first layer decides on its own, so categorization works on every supported device.

TL;DR: Pizazoo sorts each screenshot into one of 13 built-in categories (Code, Documents, Receipts, Design, Chats, Errors, Payments, Travel, Shopping, Social, Settings, Media, Articles) on your Mac, iPhone or iPad. It analyzes the text and image on the device, adds Apple Intelligence where available, and uploads nothing. Changing a category is free; Pro adds unlimited custom categories.

What it does

  • 13 built-in categories: Code, Documents, Receipts, Design, Chats, Errors, Payments, Travel, Shopping, Social, Settings, Media, Articles (plus Uncategorized)
  • AIOn-device analysis: recognized text, Apple Vision image labels, file name and visual similarity, with nothing uploaded
  • Apple Intelligence review where available (macOS 26 or iOS 26 and later); on macOS 27 and iOS 27 the model also looks at the screenshot itself
  • No Apple Intelligence required: the scoring layer categorizes on its own on any supported Mac, iPhone or iPad
  • Change any category for free, and Pizazoo uses your corrections as examples for similar screenshots
  • Custom categories (Pro, unlimited): name one, describe it in your own words, and Pizazoo files matching screenshots there
  • Category filters in search: type cat:receipts with any word, or add date:month
  • iPhone and iPad: new screenshots are sorted when you open the app, or say "Organize my screenshots in Pizazoo" to Siri

Perfect for

  • Pulling up a month of receipts for expenses with cat:receipts date:month
  • Keeping code and error screenshots apart from chats and memes
  • Gathering travel bookings and boarding passes before a trip
  • Finding the shopping screenshots you saved to compare products
  • Sorting a backlog of older screenshots after a bulk import on Mac
  • Adding your own category, like Recipes or a client’s name, with Pro

Common questions

FAQ

How does Pizazoo categorize screenshots automatically?

In two layers, both on your device. First it scores each screenshot on the text it reads, what Apple’s Vision framework recognizes in the image, the file name, its visual similarity to built-in examples and to screenshots you have already sorted, and, on a Mac, the app that was in front when you took it. Then, on devices with Apple Intelligence, Apple’s on-device model reviews that pick. If nothing fits, the screenshot goes to Uncategorized.

Do I need Apple Intelligence to categorize screenshots automatically?

No. On a Mac, iPhone or iPad without Apple Intelligence (an older OS version, a device that is not eligible, or the feature turned off), the on-device scoring layer picks the category on its own. With Apple Intelligence, Apple’s on-device model takes a second look at each pick, and on macOS 27 and iOS 27 it sees the screenshot image as well as its text. Without it, custom-category matching is deliberately cautious and only files a screenshot when the evidence is clear.

What categories does Pizazoo sort screenshots into?

Thirteen built-in categories: Code, Documents, Receipts, Design, Chats, Errors, Payments, Travel, Shopping, Social, Settings, Media and Articles, plus Uncategorized for anything that does not fit. With Pro you can add your own custom categories, as many as you like.

Can I change a screenshot’s category?

Yes, for free, at any time. On a Mac, use the Category menu in the inspector, or recategorize in the review popup that appears after each capture. On iPhone and iPad, use the Category picker in a screenshot’s details, or categorize a new screenshot straight from its notification on the Lock Screen. Pizazoo uses your corrections as examples when it sorts similar screenshots later.

Are my screenshots uploaded for AI categorization?

No. Text recognition, image analysis and categorization all run on your device, and the Apple Intelligence step uses Apple’s on-device model. There is no Pizazoo server and no account. If you turn on iCloud Sync (Pro, off by default), your library syncs through your own private iCloud.

Are custom categories free?

Custom categories are part of Pizazoo Pro, a one-time purchase with no subscription: from $15 for Mac (with Pro on the same number of iPhones or iPads included), or from $14.99 in the iPhone and iPad app. Pro includes unlimited custom categories. Describe each one in your own words and Pizazoo files matching new screenshots there, and Apply to Existing Screenshots sorts the ones you already have. The 13 built-in categories and manual changes stay free.

Try it on your own screenshots.

Pizazoo is free on Mac, iPhone and iPad. Import your screenshots and search or browse them in minutes.
