Feature · Markup

A full markup editor inside your screenshot library.

Pizazoo 1.0.2 added a complete markup editor on top of the organizer. Instead of opening a separate annotation app, you select a screenshot, edit it, and the result lives in the same library — categorized, OCR-indexed, and easy to find again.

TL;DR — Open any screenshot in Pizazoo and a non-destructive editor opens beside it: arrows, text, shapes, ink, redact, blur, watermark, signature, step badges, magnifier, spotlight, perspective fix, background removal. The original stays untouched and the edited version becomes part of your searchable library.

What it does

  • Annotate — text, arrows, shapes, ink, highlights, callouts
  • AIPrivacy — redact, blur, pixelate, auto-redact PII, QR auto-blur
  • Branding — watermark, trackpad-captured signature, step badges
  • AIVision-powered — background removal, lift subject, perspective fix, smart straighten
  • Focus tools — magnifier, spotlight, crop
  • Non-destructive — the original screenshot is preserved

Perfect for

  • Send a redacted screenshot to support without leaking your email or account ID
  • Annotate a UI bug for an engineer with arrows, text, and a step badge
  • Add a personal watermark before posting a screenshot publicly
  • Sign a PDF screenshot with a real trackpad signature — no Preview required
  • Fix the perspective of a phone-photo of a monitor before sharing it

Common questions

FAQ

Is the markup editor free?

Yes. The full markup editor is included in the free tier of Pizazoo. Pro adds organization features (tags, saved searches, custom categories) and multi-Mac licensing.

Is editing destructive?

No. Pizazoo edits non-destructively. Your original screenshot is preserved — the edited version is saved alongside it inside the library and you can revert anytime.

Does anything get uploaded?

No. The markup editor runs entirely on your Mac. Apple Vision powers the background-removal, subject-lift, and perspective tools — all on-device.

How does Pizazoo’s editor compare to CleanShot X or Snagit?

It covers the core overlap: annotate, redact, blur, watermark, sign, step badges. CleanShot X is still ahead for scrolling captures and cloud sharing; Snagit is still ahead for long-form documentation and screen recording. See /compare/cleanshot and /compare/snagit for honest breakdowns.

Can I use it on existing screenshots from CleanShot, Shottr, or Xnapper?

Yes. Add their export folder to Pizazoo and every screenshot becomes editable inside Pizazoo.
