Screenshots leak more than people realise: email addresses in tab bars, account IDs in URLs, faces in Slack avatars, addresses in receipts, secrets in QR codes. Pizazoo’s redaction tools make it one click to clean a screenshot before sharing it.
TL;DR: Pizazoo redacts sensitive parts of a screenshot in two ways: manually (drag a Black bar, Blur or Pixelate region) and automatically (Auto-Redact for personal info, plus Blur QR Codes). Everything runs on your Mac (no cloud upload), and the original stays intact so you can revert later.

How to do it
- Open the screenshot in Pizazoo. Find the screenshot in your library and open it (Return or Space opens the preview), then click Edit. The markup editor opens with the screenshot loaded non-destructively.
- Pick a redaction tool. Choose Black bar, Blur or Pixelate from the Redact tools in the toolbar. For automatic coverage, open the AI tools menu, tick the Auto-Redact Targets you want, set Redaction Style to Solid Redact for secrets, then click Run Auto-Redact. Blur QR Codes covers every QR code in one click.
- Drag over the sensitive region. Drag across the area you want to cover. Resize or remove the redaction anytime; it’s a non-destructive layer.
- Export or share. Click Done to apply it. Pizazoo keeps the pristine original, so you can reopen the editor later and change or remove the redaction. To keep both versions, open the Done menu and choose Save a copy. Use Share to send it via Mail, Messages, or any macOS share target.

FAQ
Can I un-redact a screenshot later?
Yes. Redactions are non-destructive layers in Pizazoo. Open the screenshot, remove the redaction layer, and the original pixels are restored.
Does auto-redact work offline?
Yes. Detection uses Apple’s on-device Vision text recognition plus pattern matching. No text, no image, and no metadata is uploaded.
What kind of PII can Pizazoo detect?
With the PII target on, Auto-Redact finds emails, phone numbers, card-like digit strings, IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, AWS keys, JWTs, GitHub and Slack tokens, vendor API keys and other long secret-like strings. You can also target faces, people or all text, and Blur QR Codes handles QR codes. Always check the result and cover anything it missed, such as names, by hand.
Is blur secure enough to share publicly?
Not for genuinely secret data: blur and pixelate can sometimes be reversed, so use the Black bar. Before you run Auto-Redact on passwords, keys or account numbers, check that its Redaction Style is set to Solid Redact.
Can I bulk-redact multiple screenshots?
Redaction works one screenshot at a time today. Bulk redact is on the roadmap.
